She recently graduated the Savannah College of Art and Design for a degree in Sequential Art and a minor in Storyboarding.

About Me

Sophia Meza is an up-and-coming sequential artist based in Georgia. Born in San Diego, she spent her childhood in Kentucky and Missouri with a pencil always in hand. She spends her time not spent drawing at home in Savannah with her husband. She also enjoys sewing, Nintendo video games, and watching films of every genre with her family and friends. Many of her artistic influences come from her environment in the midst of rolling hill countryside and the culture that comes from cowboys and Christian faith.

She has been working in freelance art since the summer of 2016. Sophia got her start in online communities like many young artists. At that point, she had been completely self-taught and self-motivated. She finds joy working with clients one-on-one, giving and receiving direct feedback to achieve the artistic vision of the patron. Many of these collaborative projects include character design sheets, storyborads, illustrations, paintings, comics, and fan art of licensed properties.

Sophia graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Sequential Art and a minor in storyboarding. She was proud to be a part of the graduating class of 2022. She is grateful for the schooling she has received and the meaningful connections SCAD has given her. She hopes to one day see her name at the end of a movie. Ultimately, the dream is to make storyboards nestled in her home office, telling meaningful stories to the best of her abilities.
